KBK Sports is very proud to host the Annual Pete Frates Charity On-Line Auction.
Pete, a former captain of the Boston College baseball team and professional baseball player in Europe, was diagnosed with ALS in March of 2012. When he was diagnosed, along side his family and friends, made it a goal to raise awareness & funds for ALS research.
Pete was able to spread national attention with his “ALS Ice-Bucket Challenge” as celebrities, athletes, family, friends, and sports fans could join in fighting ALS.
After a heroic battle with ALS, Pete passed away beside his friends and family in 2019, and the fight against ALS is still strong with his memory. This yearly auction is a great way to remember Pete and like him raise awareness of ALS and raise money to help battle this disease.
With the help of Pete’s family and KBK Sports, we are able to put in personal items directly from Pete, as well as tons of autographed memorabilia & collectibles.
To date, the auctions has raised over $20,000 towards ALS research, and we hope to continue to raise that number.
